About

Just a small-town Wisconsin girl who likes to make people happy

“All I ever wanted was to make people happy. To make them laugh, hopefully with me but even at me if that’s what it took.”

Lis Thompson, Revelry Sweets

Humble beginnings

I was born and raised in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, a smaller town in the southern part of the state. I loved playing outdoors, I hated wearing shoes, I begged my uncle and grandpa to take me fishing, and took anything I could get my hands on and made it into art. We spent a lot of time with my grandma, who I adored, and I remember watching the Carol Burnett Show with her thinking someday I’m going to make people laugh and happy like that.

Growing up, I enjoyed the time I was able to spend in the kitchen with my mom baking. The smells, the laughs, the sometimes happy accidents and the joy her pies, cookies and banana bread brought when she shared it with friends and family hold special memories. I remember throwing the idea out there of bypassing college and opening a bakery when I graduated high school … that went over, well, as good as you can imagine. I tabled the idea and ventured off to school. My love of baking was put on hold for a few years as other priorities (like working multiple jobs to pay the bills and for school) captured my time.

Where

We Are Now

The older I’ve gotten the more I’ve come to appreciate the simple joys and missed my time in the kitchen.

When we moved to southwest Florida in 2018 I started carving out time here and there to try new recipes and challenge my skills, which is how I stumbled into royal icing cookies. The artist in me fell in love, and it stirred up all the wonderful memories. I felt like a kid again! I’ll spend hours painstakingly and meticulously mixing colors and decorating cookie after cookie as my schedule allows. What started out as gifts for friends and thank you’s for those who work tirelessly in our community through the holidays has blossomed into so much more. I truly put a piece of myself into each cookie, and hope you can taste the love and care that goes into making each one a work of art.

When I’m not bouncing around the kitchen I enjoy spending time with my husband outdoors and exploring all the tastes, sights and sounds that Florida has to offer. I was born to create — through jewelry, crafts, photography, design and culinary art. Maybe mom’s push towards college wasn’t such a bad thing after all; my design background has helped me to elevate my skills and creativity across many mediums, including cookies.

I still freelance and do contract graphic design as well as juggle a couple of other business ventures with my husband. My time is at a premium and I do everything I can to ensure you’re receiving nothing but my best work. Thank you for entrusting me with your tastebuds! Let’s see what the future brings!

What’s in a Name?

I gave a lot of thought before deciding on a name. Everything led me back to where my love of baking originated — baking for the holidays with my mom. Sadly I don’t have any photos of us making a mess together, which we often did, but I have her to thank for lighting that spark.

Revelry means celebration and merriment. This is a reminder to myself and others that every day is a gift; every day is special and deserves to be celebrated. Life is short! Whether you’re celebrating an occasion or just celebrating you survived another day, I’ve got you covered.
